Treatment Guide
Active Acne, Rosacea & Scarring
Active acne, rosacea, and related scarring require a careful, combined approach because treating one (e.g., harsh acne products) can trigger the other (rosacea). What Is Fotona Active Acne Treatment?
Fotona’s Nd:YAG laser technology provides a safe, non-invasive way to treat active acne and reduce future breakouts. It works by targeting overactive sebaceous glands, reducing inflammation and destroying acne-causing bacteria deep within the skin – without medication or harsh chemicals.
Key Differences and Overlap
- Active Acne (Acne Vulgaris): Caused by oil, bacteria, and clogged pores, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts.
- Rosacea: A chronic inflammatory condition causing persistent redness, flushing, visible blood vessels, and sometimes acne-like bumps (papulopustular rosacea).
- Overlap: Both can coexist. Rosacea-induced acne (pimples) requires different, gentler treatment than typical acne, as harsh acne products can severely irritate rosacea.
- Scarring: Both severe acne and papulopustular rosacea can lead to permanent scars
- Clears active acne lesions quickly.
- Reduces frequency and severity of future breakouts.
- Shrinks pore size and balances oil production.
- Improves skin tone and texture.
- Minimal discomfort, no systemic medication needed.
