Fotona TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation

What Is Fotona TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation?

TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation is Fotona’s flagship skin resurfacing treatment, built on the philosophy behind “The Medical Power of Light®” — using precisely controlled laser energy to rejuvenate skin from within, rather than treating the whole surface indiscriminately. Performed using the Fotona SP Dynamis, the same advanced platform behind our Fotona 4D and NightLase treatments, TwinLight combines two complementary laser wavelengths in a single session to improve skin smoothness, tone and firmness with minimal downtime.

The Medical Power of Light® — How TwinLight Works

TwinLight combines an Nd:YAG laser, which works beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate deep collagen remodelling, with an Er:YAG laser, which precisely resurfaces the outer skin layer. Rather than treating the entire treatment area uniformly, TwinLight uses fractional technology to target only the areas that need it — leaving surrounding healthy skin untouched, which supports faster healing than older, fully ablative resurfacing lasers.

The 3-Step TwinLight Procedure

  1. Conditioning — the Nd:YAG laser passes over the skin, first providing a gentle stimulus, then penetrating deeper to warm and condition the tissue ahead of resurfacing.
  2. Fractional resurfacing — the Er:YAG laser precisely removes older, damaged skin in a fractional pattern, leaving healthy surrounding tissue untouched to support faster recovery.
  3. Remodelling — the deep heating effect continues to stimulate new collagen formation over the following weeks, gradually firming and smoothing the skin.

What TwinLight Can Treat

  • Uneven skin texture and tone
  • Fine lines and early signs of ageing
  • Scarring, including acne scarring
  • Mild skin laxity
  • Overall dullness and lack of radiance

What to Expect

A typical TwinLight session takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area treated. Most clients feel a mild warming sensation during treatment, with the skin’s surface cooled throughout for comfort. Some redness or a sensation similar to mild sunburn is common for a short period afterwards. Visible improvement in texture and tone often begins within a week as the skin’s natural remodelling process gets underway, with full results developing over the following weeks to months depending on the concern being treated.

Who Is It Suitable For?

TwinLight suits a broad age range — from clients in their 30s looking for preventative skin maintenance, to those in their 60s seeking more noticeable rejuvenation. A consultation will assess your skin type and goals to agree the right number of sessions and settings for you.

Treatment Details

Because it’s fractional, TwinLight treats only part of the skin’s surface at a time, leaving surrounding tissue intact — this means faster healing than fully ablative lasers, while still delivering real, visible improvement.

Most clients describe a warming sensation during treatment, with the skin continuously cooled for comfort; some redness afterwards is normal and settles within a short period.

This depends on your skin concern and goals, and will be agreed at consultation – many clients see benefit from a course of several sessions spaced weeks apart.

Both treatments use the same Fotona SP Dynamis laser platform, applying different combinations of the same Nd:YAG and Er:YAG technology to different concerns – TwinLight focuses on resurfacing and texture, Fotona 4D on lifting and firming.

Initial improvement in skin texture is often visible within a week, with continued improvement over the following weeks to months as new collagen forms.
