Fotona NightLase Snoring Treatment
What Is Fotona NightLase?
Fotona NightLase is a non-invasive laser treatment that reduces snoring by gently tightening the soft tissue at the back of the throat and soft palate — the tissue whose vibration causes snoring. It uses the same Er:YAG laser technology found in Fotona’s aesthetic treatments, applied in a specific mode designed for oral soft tissue, with no incisions, anaesthesia or downtime.
How NightLase Works
The laser delivers gentle, controlled thermal energy to the oral mucosa, stimulating collagen contraction and new collagen formation. As the tissue tightens over a course of sessions, the airway becomes less prone to the vibration that causes snoring, helping many clients — and their partners — sleep more soundly.
What to Expect
NightLase is generally very well tolerated, requiring no anaesthetic and no recovery time — clients can return to normal activities straight after each session. A typical treatment plan involves three to five sessions, and many people notice an improvement in snoring after the very first session, with further improvement as the course continues.
Who Is It Suitable For?
NightLase is designed for adults who experience primary snoring or mild obstructive sleep apnoea. It’s a good option for people looking for a non-surgical alternative to appliances such as mandibular advancement devices, or who have found other treatments uncomfortable or difficult to stick with. A consultation will confirm whether NightLase — potentially alongside medical assessment for sleep-disordered breathing — is right for you.
How Long Do Results Last?
Results typically last up to a year or longer, and treatment can be repeated periodically to maintain the effect as tissue naturally loses tone over time.
Treatment Details
Yes – controlled clinical trials found NightLase significantly reduced snoring scores with efficacy similar to more invasive treatment options.
No – it’s described as a gentle, non-invasive treatment with no anaesthetic required and no downtime afterwards.
Most treatment plans involve three to five sessions for optimal, lasting results, though some clients notice improvement after just one.
NightLase is intended for primary snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnoea. Clients with moderate to severe sleep apnoea should be medically assessed, as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machines) or other treatments may still be required – this is something to discuss at the initial consultation.
Many clients and their partners notice a reduction in snoring after the first session, with further improvement as the course progresses.
