Deep Cleansing ABRALASE-MDA Facial with MESO & Glacial® Glide

What is this Facial?

This is a genuinely thorough three-step deep cleansing facial: corundum crystal microdermabrasion to resurface, MESO electroporation to deliver active ingredients into the freshly exfoliated skin, and a calming Glacial® Glide finish to leave skin settled rather than warm or reactive. Each step does a distinct job — clearing away dead, congested skin cells, driving targeted actives deeper than topical application alone could reach, and cooling the skin’s response — so you leave with skin that’s genuinely been treated, nourished and calmed in one considered session.

Step 1: ABRALASE-MDA (Corundum Crystal Microdermabrasion)

Fine corundum (aluminium oxide) crystals — around 100 microns — are passed across the skin using a controlled vacuum and abrasion system, physically removing the outermost layer of dead, congested skin cells. The depth of treatment is genuinely adjustable, controlled by crystal flow strength, handpiece speed, and the number of passes over each area, meaning your therapist can tailor the intensity from a gentle refresh to a more thorough deep cleanse depending on your skin’s needs. This step also opens the skin up to absorb the active ingredients delivered in step two far more effectively than untreated skin would.

Step 2: MESO (Electroporation Active Delivery)

MESO uses electroporation — brief, modulated electrical pulses — to temporarily and safely increase the skin’s permeability, opening new micro-pathways that allow active skincare ingredients to penetrate significantly deeper than topical application alone. Delivered straight after the MDA step, while the skin is at its most receptive, this drives targeted ingredients (hydrating, brightening or clarifying actives, chosen for your specific skin) directly into the layers where they can make a genuine difference — with no needles and no discomfort.

Step 3: Glacial® Glide (Calming Finish)

Glacial Glide uses the same Cryomodulation™ precision cooling technology as our Glacial Gloss facial, delivered as a quick, targeted calming treatment. Finishing with this step calms any warmth or reactivity left over from the resurfacing and delivery steps, so you leave with skin that looks and feels genuinely settled — not obviously “just treated.”

Why This Sequence Works

Each step is positioned deliberately: resurfacing first opens the skin, active delivery second takes advantage of that increased receptivity while it’s at its peak, and cooling last calms the cumulative effect of the two active steps before you leave. This mirrors the same logic behind our fuller Renova Omnia combination facial, adapted here specifically for a deep-cleanse and calm focus rather than structural tightening.

What This Facial Can Treat

  • Congested, dull or textured skin
  • Enlarged or clogged pores
  • Uneven skin texture and tone
  • Build-up of dead skin cells and debris
  • General radiance, hydration and skin clarity

What to Expect: Comfort, Downtime & Aftercare

ABRALASE-MDA feels like a gentle scratching or vibration sensation; MESO is entirely painless; Glacial Glide is felt simply as a cooling sensation. There’s minimal downtime — some mild redness or sensitivity for a few hours is normal, and the Glacial Glide finish helps reduce even this. SPF is essential in the days following treatment, since freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to sun exposure. This facial works well as a standalone deep cleanse or as a regular part of your skin maintenance routine, spaced a few weeks apart.

Deep Cleansing ABRALASE-MDA Facial with MESO & Glacial® Glide FAQs

Corundum is the mineral name for aluminium oxide — the fine crystals used in ABRALASE-MDA to physically exfoliate the skin’s outer layer during microdermabrasion.

This is tailored to your skin’s specific needs at consultation — hydrating, brightening or clarifying actives can all be delivered this way, chosen based on what your skin actually needs.

Because deep cleansing and active delivery can leave skin warm and mildly reactive immediately afterwards, finishing with Glacial Glide’s cooling technology genuinely improves comfort and calms the skin before you leave – it’s built into this facial specifically because the pairing makes sense, not as an upsell.

The depth of the ABRALASE-MDA step can be adjusted to suit more sensitive or reactive skin, and the Glacial Glide finish is specifically calming – we’ll assess your skin and tailor intensity accordingly at consultation.

Both start with ABRALASE-MDA and include MESO, but this facial finishes with Glacial Glide for a calming deep-cleanse focus, while the Renova Omnia Combination Facial finishes with SUB CTR for deep radiofrequency tightening. Which suits you depends on whether you’re after a deep cleanse and calm, or structural tightening as well.

Minimal – some mild redness or warmth for a few hours is normal, genuinely reduced by the Glacial Glide finish.

Aluminium oxide (corundum) crystal microdermabrasion is a genuinely well-studied technique, with research showing measurable increases in skin compliance and decreases in skin stiffness following treatment, and a study of 41 patients with facial scarring reporting good-to-excellent clinical improvement over a course of sessions. Separate molecular research has confirmed that the abrasive crystal component specifically stimulates gene expression involved in dermal remodelling, distinguishing genuine crystal abrasion from vacuum/suction alone. Electroporation, the mechanism behind MESO, has been shown in dermal delivery research to meaningfully increase penetration of active ingredients beyond what topical application alone achieves, by temporarily and safely increasing skin permeability. On the calming side, Cryomodulation™ — the technology behind Glacial Glide — has genuine independent research support: a randomised, split-face clinical study published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine (2024) found that a course of controlled cooling significantly reduced pain, redness and swelling following resurfacing treatment, directly supporting cooling’s role in calming freshly treated, reactive skin.
