PRP ‘Vampire Facelift’ with AutologIX
What Is AutologIX? Advanced PRP, Not Standard PRP
At Eva Clinic, our “vampire facelift” isn’t standard PRP — we exclusively offer AutologIX, a more advanced autologous regenerative treatment. Where basic PRP concentrates platelets alone using a simple centrifuge, AutologIX uses selective ultrafiltration technology to concentrate a considerably broader range of your blood’s own regenerative components: exosomes, growth factors, cytokines, and plasma proteins, alongside platelets. Exosomes act as biological messengers carrying regenerative signals between cells, and the growth factors found outside platelets in the plasma itself (such as IGF-1 and HGF) are simply discarded by standard PRP preparation — AutologIX is specifically designed to capture and concentrate these additional components too, creating a genuinely more complete regenerative preparation from your own blood. This stimulates your body’s own collagen production, reducing fine lines, improving texture, and enhancing overall skin tone — with a broader biological toolkit than platelets alone provide.
How It Works: From Blood Draw to Mesotherapy Delivery
A small blood sample is taken, just as with a routine blood test, and processed using AutologIX’s ultrafiltration technology to concentrate the full range of regenerative components described above. This concentrated preparation is then delivered into the treatment area using a mesotherapy technique — precise micro-injections using a mesogun, which allows exact, consistent depth and dosing across the treatment area, giving more even, controlled delivery than manual injection alone. The entire process, from blood draw to treatment, typically takes 45–60 minutes.

Who Is a Good Candidate?
Good candidacy comes down to a few genuine factors, and it’s worth being honest about all of them rather than assuming everyone’s an ideal candidate:
- Blood quality matters. This treatment relies on having sufficient platelet count and healthy blood to produce an effective concentrate — this is why we recommend blood testing beforehand where indicated, to confirm adequate platelet levels for the treatment to work as intended. Clients with low platelet counts or certain blood disorders are not suitable candidates.
- Age plays a genuine role. Generally speaking, younger patients tend to see a stronger regenerative response, since platelet quality and the body’s overall healing and collagen-producing capacity naturally decline with age. That said, this treatment can still deliver meaningful, worthwhile improvement for more mature skin — it’s a difference in degree, not a hard cut-off, and your specific candidacy is best assessed individually rather than by age alone.
- General health matters. This treatment isn’t suitable for anyone with certain blood disorders, active cancer, or who is pregnant. Smoking impairs healing and should ideally be avoided for a couple of weeks before treatment and up to 72 hours afterwards. Blood-thinning medications and NSAIDs (such as aspirin or ibuprofen) should be avoided for at least 48 hours prior, where medically appropriate to do so.
- Skin and health status on the day matters too — treatment is postponed if you’re unwell, or if the treatment area has active skin infection, irritation, or damage.
All of this is properly assessed at consultation, not assumed — this is exactly why a proper pre-treatment discussion (and testing where indicated) matters more here than for some other treatments.
How to Improve Your Blood Quality Before Treatment
Because this treatment’s effectiveness depends directly on the quality of your own blood, there’s genuinely something you can do beforehand to give yourself the best possible starting point — this matters for every client, but especially if you’re not in your 20s or 30s, since supporting your body’s platelet function becomes more valuable as the natural baseline declines with age.
Lifestyle changes that genuinely help: – Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to treatment — good hydration supports healthy blood volume and makes for a smoother, more effective blood draw and processing. – Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before treatment, ideally longer — alcohol measurably reduces platelet count and function, and can affect the quality of the plasma obtained. – Stop smoking, or cut down as much as possible, for at least two weeks beforehand and up to 72 hours afterwards — smoking impairs both platelet function and your body’s overall healing response. – Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen) for at least 3–7 days prior, since these interfere with platelet function and the inflammatory response the treatment relies on to work. – Get good-quality sleep in the run-up to treatment — sleep supports your body’s natural regenerative processes. – Moderate exercise in the days before (rather than none, or overly strenuous activity) can support healthy circulation and platelet function. – Manage stress where you can — chronically elevated cortisol can negatively affect platelet production over time.
Nutrition that supports platelet health: – A diet rich in lean protein, vitamin C, zinc, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids supports both platelet function and the collagen-building process this treatment is designed to stimulate. – Folate and vitamins B12, D and K all play a role in healthy platelet production — a generally balanced, nutrient-dense diet in the weeks before treatment is more useful than any single “superfood.” – Avoid relying on refined sugar and heavily processed food in the days immediately before treatment, since these contribute to systemic inflammation that can work against the treatment’s mechanism.
A note on supplements: some supplements — fish oil, high-dose vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and garlic supplements among them — have a blood-thinning effect and are generally advised to stop for about a week before treatment. Please don’t stop or start any supplement or medication without discussing it with us or your GP first, since this needs to be balanced against your other health needs.
What Blood Tests Are Recommended Beforehand?
The main test relevant here is a Full Blood Count (FBC) — this checks your red and white blood cell levels, haemoglobin, and crucially, your platelet count, confirming you have a sufficient baseline to produce an effective concentrate. This is the single most directly relevant test.
Depending on your individual health history, we may also recommend or require: – Iron studies/ferritin — since iron deficiency can affect both platelet production and general healing capacity, particularly relevant if you’re not seeing the platelet levels we’d expect. – Standard infectious disease screening (as is routine practice for any procedure involving blood collection and processing) to ensure safe handling throughout. – General health markers relevant to your individual medical history, discussed and agreed with you at consultation.
Not every client needs every test — what’s genuinely relevant depends on your health history and what comes up in your consultation, which is why this is discussed individually rather than applied as a blanket protocol.
Results & Longevity
Initial results are typically visible within 2–4 weeks as your skin begins to respond to the growth factors and regenerative signals delivered. Optimal, longer-lasting effects generally require a course of 1–3 sessions, spaced around 4 weeks apart, with results commonly lasting 12–18 months. Long-term effects such as genuine collagen production, skin tightening, and improved skin quality can take up to 3–4 months to fully develop, since this reflects real biological remodelling rather than an instant cosmetic change.
Downtime & Aftercare
Downtime is minimal — redness, slight bruising, or mild swelling may last 12–24 hours, and most clients return to normal activities the same day. Sun protection is important in the days following treatment (SPF 50), and it’s best to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat exposure for the first 24–48 hours to support optimal healing.
AutologIX FAQs
No — we exclusively offer AutologIX, which goes beyond standard PRP by concentrating exosomes and extraplatelet growth factors alongside platelets, using selective ultrafiltration technology rather than simple centrifugation. It’s a broader regenerative preparation than platelets alone provide.
Yes – because it’s made entirely from your own blood, with nothing foreign introduced, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal, making it one of the more inherently safe injectable treatments available.
Particularly effective for dullness, fine lines, under-eye crepiness, and mild scarring, and can be applied across the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, jawline and chin.
This depends on your blood quality and general health — good platelet levels, no relevant blood disorders, and no contraindicating medications or conditions. Age can influence how strong your response is, with younger patients generally seeing a more pronounced effect, though this treatment remains a worthwhile option across a range of ages. We’ll assess your suitability properly at consultation, with blood testing recommended where indicated.
Yes — while platelet quality and regenerative capacity naturally decline somewhat with age, there’s genuinely a lot you can do beforehand: staying well hydrated, eating a nutrient-rich diet, avoiding alcohol and smoking, and getting good sleep in the weeks leading up to treatment all support healthier platelet function regardless of age.
A Full Blood Count (FBC) – which includes your platelet count – is the main test relevant here, and we’ll discuss whether this is needed for you at consultation. Additional tests (such as iron studies) may be recommended depending on your individual health history.

PRP mesotherapy’s effect on facial skin quality has been objectively evaluated using validated image analysis technology, with a split-face study finding significant improvement in facial gloss — a recognised marker of healthy, youthful-looking skin — following treatment. The broader regenerative mechanism is well documented in the wider tissue-repair literature: platelets release growth factors, including VEGF, PDGF and TGF-β, which stimulate angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) and collagen matrix synthesis. Pre-treatment factors affecting treatment success — including hydration, nutrition, and avoidance of alcohol and NSAIDs — have been reviewed in the orthopaedic and regenerative medicine literature, supporting the general lifestyle guidance given to clients beforehand. AutologIX’s underlying ultrafiltration approach reflects newer research into concentrating extraplatelet growth factors (such as IGF-1 and HGF) and exosomes from the plasma itself, components not captured by standard platelet-concentration methods, and which research suggests contribute meaningfully to cell signalling and tissue regeneration.
