How It Works: Diode & Alexandrite Technology
Xlase Plus uses its AlexPro handpiece to combine diode laser (810nm) and Alexandrite laser (755nm) technology in one device, delivering light that’s absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. This heats and gradually disables the follicle’s ability to produce new hair, leading to a genuine, lasting reduction in hair growth over a course of sessions — rather than the temporary results of shaving or waxing. Having both wavelengths available means treatment can be matched to your specific hair colour and skin tone, rather than relying on a single wavelength for every client.

A Note on Hair Colour — Diode vs Alexandrite
Xlase Plus is effective on most hair colours, thanks to its AlexPro handpiece, which combines two laser wavelengths that each target melanin (pigment) differently within the hair. The 810nm diode wavelength works particularly well on darker hair — black and brown shades — while the 755nm Alexandrite wavelength is specifically excellent for finer, lighter and blondish hair that diode-only lasers often struggle with. Having both wavelengths available in one handpiece means Xlase Plus can be tailored genuinely well across a broader range of hair colours than a single-wavelength device. Very light white or grey hair, and true red hair, contain little or no melanin at all, so they don’t respond meaningfully to laser treatment regardless of wavelength or device — this is a limit of the underlying science, not something any laser system can overcome.
