What Is This Combination Treatment?

This is a genuinely multi-modal facial performed on the Renova Omnia platform, combining three distinct technologies in one session: ABRALASE-MDA crystal microdermabrasion to resurface the outer skin layer, MESO electroporation to actively deliver targeted skincare ingredients into the newly resurfaced, more receptive skin, and SUB CTR deep radiofrequency to finish by tightening from within the dermis. Rather than addressing one layer of skin concern at a time across separate appointments, this combination treats surface texture, product absorption, and deeper structural firmness all in a single, considered protocol.

Step 1: ABRALASE-MDA (Crystal Microdermabrasion)

Fine aluminium oxide crystals (around 100 microns) are passed across the skin to gently remove the outer layer of dead, damaged skin cells. The depth of this exfoliation is precisely controlled — adjusted by crystal flow strength, handpiece speed, and number of passes — so the treatment can be tailored from a light refresh to a more thorough resurfacing depending on your skin’s needs. As the treated area regenerates, the new skin beneath is typically smoother and firmer, and — practically — this step also opens the skin up to absorb the active ingredients delivered in step two far more effectively than untreated skin would.

Step 2: MESO (Electroporation Active Delivery)

MESO uses electroporation — brief, modulated electrical pulses — to temporarily and safely increase the skin’s permeability, opening new micro-pathways that allow active skincare ingredients to penetrate significantly deeper than they could through topical application alone. Delivered straight after the MDA step, while the skin is at its most receptive, this step drives targeted ingredients (hydrating, brightening, or firming actives, chosen for your specific skin) directly into the layers where they can actually make a difference — with no needles and no discomfort.

Step 3: SUB CTR (Deep Radiofrequency Tightening)

SUB CTR delivers radiofrequency energy into the deeper dermis, where the skin’s electrical resistance converts the current into heat. This controlled heating triggers immediate collagen contraction, followed by a longer-term collagen remodelling response over the following weeks and months — the same mechanism behind monopolar radiofrequency skin tightening, one of the most extensively studied non-surgical tightening technologies available. Finishing with this step means the session closes on firming and tightening the deeper structural layers, after the surface and delivery work is already done.

Most clients tolerate the full combination well — ABRALASE-MDA feels like a gentle scratching or vibration, MESO is entirely painless, and SUB CTR is typically felt as a warming sensation as the deeper tissue heats. There’s minimal downtime: some redness and mild sensitivity is common for a few hours to a day afterwards, similar to other microdermabrasion-based treatments. SPF is essential in the days following treatment, since freshly resurfaced skin is more vulnerable to sun exposure. A course of sessions is generally recommended for the best cumulative tightening and texture result, spaced a few weeks apart.

Each technology in this combination has genuine published research behind its individual mechanism.
